Remember me mentioning 'Morningstar Manor', that old else!game where I played with Sal, Clare and some others who might still read this, which was ripped off by '666 Park Avenue', which in turn died an ignominious death after a few episodes on ABC last season, so I'm not even angry at its existence any more?

Remember Andras, the character who turned into my main character there, the photographer for whose PB I used Russell Brand? And how he was always bemoaning the fact that he had such a small willy, especially in relation to his height?

Well, in a moment of the Ouroubos coming back to bite its own tail, as it were, Eric just linked a picture in chat that shows that Russell Brand really has a tiny, tiny schlong.

NSFW, of course!!

This is something that had totally passed me by.

The series that was based on ripping off our old RPG 'Morningstar Manor' didn't make it after all.

Ourouboroses on the basement floor and Locke as Vision doesn't necessarily mean you'll last as long as we did, neener.

**insert lots of mean, cheap, uncivilised satisfaction here**

**also, hornfingers**

Also, totally not blaming their demise on the utter lack of lovely charries like Charlie Shaw, Deacon, or Marvin Temminck...

... or maybe the Mocha. Something like that.

In a noncomittal 'sandbox' game* on DreamWidth, I put up a post set in a noncomittal café, anybody welcome, but especially OCs from other games, especially especially if the game is defunct and we miss the charries.

Seeing Russell Brand preform at the Olympics Closing Ceremony on Sunday, I realised how much I miss Andras Toth from Morningstar Manor, so he's the one I'm going to play in there...

* I crossposted to [community profile] panfandomsandbox as well, but if you're from the good old MM and feel like airing out one of your charries, let's keep to M_M so we find each other there, if we want to...

Today, my beloved long-time OC populated else!game, Morningstar Manor, finally reopened after dormancy since autumn.

Officially and all!

IJ is down; according to [livejournal.com profile] essayel, it didn't come back up from its usual scheduled maintenance at 11.30 GMT this morning.

Just in case anybody is wondering.-

Aaaand as of midnight my time, it's back! Woo-hoo!

As I was making icons for [livejournal.com profile] ceitfianna anyway, I did a new everybody icon for Morningstar Manor, as a default icon for my mm_maru account over on InsaneJournal.

It reflects who I actually do play over there at the moment. These folk there have plot and get OTA/MW posts, so if I forget to pick an icon for a tag, odds are very good one of these six is talking anyway.-

Yep, I am hatching a new character for Morningstar Manor. And yes, she is meant to be unapologetically fat, so 'she looks fat' is not an argument against either. And yes, I am asking for opinions because I really can't decide.-

ETA: Unanimous! 9:0 in favour of Mia Tyler! So I will be definitely going with her. Thanks to everybody who voted! Expect to see a New Charrie Announcement in Morningstar Manor soon.-

You know, it's getting close to five years that I've been RPing with [livejournal.com profile] essayel; I think it was early December 2004 that a certain purple god first chatted to a certain faun who had baked pain au chocolat...

Her tags haven't got any less amusing, and her way of putting thing is undiminishedly priceless: just now did she make me giggle real heard.

I have become a creature of habit. Perhaps it's because of the cats; they tend be as well.

One of the nice things on any Saturday is reading [livejournal.com profile] essayel's weekly summary of goings-on in the Morningstar Manor RPG on IJ. They are very amusing.

This Saturday, though, she started out by claiming "Too sleepy to be funny this week", then totally outdid herself. Heavy meta band!! I was shrieking with giggles at that great pun.-

Yep, that is precisely how I imagine Andras's bike.

I now leave for work, and when I get back, there is plot in Morningstar Manor that I wibblingly look forwards to - Andras is going to get his comeuppance from Erik Desler, wheee! He is going to be humiliated and made to suffer.

And no, I haven't suddenly developed a taste for character torture, and I violently deny that it's just for the fun of seeing snarky Dom!Erik that I so look forwards to today's thread. Of my two brothers in MM, Lajos's tale conforms with the narrative archetype of human corruption and betrayal (he will go over to Vision this very week!), while Andras's is the classic tale of a student learning and developing, like Earthsea, for example? And just as in Earthsea (or any of the older tales that follow the archetype), the basically gifted student needs to screw up badly and be punished to finally learn what his craft has to offer him. Andras has screwed up now; and rather than let him cling to his error and move sideways, cordoning off another area of his life (as we mundane humans often do in RL), he will today be taking the next step.

Superficial research at the Wikipedia (and the links that offers) into the basics of BDSM suggest that what Erik is about to do is very, very risky and irregular, as he's going to carry over elements of that lifestyle into mundane, vanilla space - if one looks at the plot from that point of view or paradigm. Somebody like Erik can carry that off, probably, but it is still very much on the limit - which makes for an extra edge to that plot line. If one looks at the plot with another paradigm in mind - that of some Japanese sensei who punishes a student so through humility and attention, he learns - the tale is a classic, of course. If Andras gets to scrub the workroom floor, for example, that is not just the job of a 'service sub' given to somebody that doesn't quite get it all (I go with Andras having read up on BDSM at the Wikipedia, like I have, and that is all), it's also the most classial chore done at a Zen monastery, or every normal Japanese school, by the pupils...

No links, as usual with Morningsar Manor - threads are heavily f-locked, and those that aren't are distributed over many different RP comms that finally come together on the characters' f-lists.
yakalskovich: (Millitime)
Morningstar Manor is too small to have anything like [livejournal.com profile] milliquotes , so I have to present here what Seattle's character Shila just said about Tibetan butter tea.

Andras: "Molestation [of tea]?" Andras grinned. "Oh, the salt. That's a very lawyerly way of saying that."

Shila: She grinned. "Someone should charge the Tibetan people with a-salt and buttery against their tea."

[[Sorry, no links; Manor threads are more often locked than not. You have to believe me.]]
yakalskovich: (Millitime)
I now have no Milli!thread, and four Manor!threads, at the moment.

Morningstar Manor has officially eaten my brain..

Friday evening.

The week is winding down. People break out the liquor. On Morningstar Manor, the posts become friends-locked.

*vehemently and virtuously stamps on all impulses to want to RP at Morningstar Manor*

*consoles self* After all, [livejournal.com profile] asar_suti just got involved in another plot; there is enough to do in Milliways as it is.
