Yay!

PETA gave in!

Well, reading about their billboard was the last straw towards speaking out for myself, so it's not altogether bad that it has existed.

But it was offensive, and it is gone.-

I'm glad they gave in - but am I the only one who still thinks the new ad is offensive? At least slightly? I know plenty of fat vegetarians, and skinny carnivores! Veggie =/= healthy, veggie =/= thin.

I agree, basically they took away the image but kept the message. Though they did change which is something, just wish it was more.

WHOOT!! am glad it's gone.

I think the new ad at least takes a positive approach to the message they were trying to send in the last one. It basically says that if you go vegitarian then you will lose weight but somehow they still managed to make that message offensive.

It's a strange skill their marketing team seems to have.

the first ad was flat out offensive... i agree with [livejournal.com profile] athousanderrors by saying this one is just as offensive but in a somewhat more subtle way.
while not attempting to beat a dead horse, vegetarians aren't always skinny and a good majority of the ones i know are cranky, short tempered, and on massive amounts of vitamins/medications because the lack of meat and animal products screws with the body's systems.
i've finally decided to stop complaining about my own weight since it isn't a terrible size to be at and i'm not out to impress anybody with my looks... i'd rather be valued for myself as a person than my arse, chest, or any other physical feature easily changed.
