Man Men episode 4.13 -- running commentary

• Checking my tumblr dashboard, I happened on this post -- non-spoilery, but full of OMGWTFBBQ. So I am approaching this episode with great trepidation, and expect to have to mention something incredibly spoilery at some stage.
• Don has allowed Faye closer than everybody else except Anna. Definitely much closer than Betty ever was. But taking his kids to California?
• Poor Joan gets a title-only promotion and archly remarks it is almost an honour. I want to go and comfort her. Hell, I want to turn into somebody she would allow to comfort her...
• Huh, Ken Cosgrove is quite snarky, and quite firm -- no Chinese Wall breakdowns for him! His fiancée is more important than his job, full stop.
• Carla still works for Betty! And Glenn Bishop just walks in there, bold as brass. Interesting!
• Awwww! Glenn Bishop is a creepy kid, but in that moment, he's just pitiable.
• And wow!! 'Just cause you're sad doesn't mean everybody has to be!' That kid is scarily good at reading people.
• Why does she hate poor little Glenn so much that she's firing Carla over letting him in to say good-bye to Sallie??
• Betty is such a nasty piece of work! Carla has raised her kids more than she herself has, and more than her own kids (what a cheap jab!!), and she won't even let her say good-bye.
• Wow, Peggy, what is that thing on your head??
• Oh no, it's not Peggy. It's some Carolyn that Joyce met. Now, don't tell me it's the Carolyn Joan used to know...
• Awwww Megan is so good with the kids!
• OMGWTFBBQ!!!! Short hesitation, and then Don tells his kids that he is Dick. Is that what Pluseyes meant?
• Nope, he makes an excuse immediately -- nickname.
• Now real sadness sets in, seeing Anna's house so empty. And that bequest of an engagement ring is ominous. It's for whoever he will propose to before the year is out, as Faye predicted. But is it Faye or Megan?
• Baby Gene is cute, so little and earnest and not quite sure of what this is all about...
• Entitled! She says the word as if she owns it. No, Betty, you're not entitled to anything. You're just being en Entitled Blonde Bitch worse than ever before.
• Hotel rooms have this time-honoured standard layouts with entrance, wardrobe, bath opposite, bed aligned perpendicularly, window. Out room in Blumau now wasn't any different, nor was just about every hotel room I was ever in. These are just the same.
• Things with Megan are getting very serious very suddenly...
• What holiday IS that that everybody is gone for, on a Monday?
• Don looks at Megan and the kids as if he'd never seen them before.
• They're back in Don's apartment all of a sudden...
• Megan. It is Megan he proposes to. But we still have 13 minutes left, or so?
• Whoah. 'You don't say congratulations to the bride'. Pete is being Miss Manners, or what?
• Oh, Peggy and Joan bitching is cute! Peggy says 'bullshit' and Joan just giggles at her. Oh, Joanie!! She looks absolutely smashing all in black.
• At least she didn't tell him to go shit in the ocean...
• OMGWTFBBQ at Joan!!! So she did keep the baby after all, as people speculated ever since that episode. That's much more momentous than Don marrying Megan!
• Betty is the one who went and married somebody else right away, and she's sour at Don doing the same after a year. But then, that woman was never logical. Ugh!
• We're never going to see that hideous brown plaid wallpaper ever again!! Yay!

Even the professional Faye-haters felt bad for Faye. I was literally clinging in terror to James when Don made That Phone Call.

I'm very fond of Megan (and Don), but I was screaming "NOOOO!" at the TV when he popped the question. Not a bad thing to do per se, but done for allllll the wrong reasons. Eeeek.
