There, Gabby, all your bonuses rolled in one...

The sun came out a bit later that morning, and it grew warm quite quickly under the glass roof. Tony, however, didn't close them, as if not wanting to deprive the city pigeons of the spectacular view of the well-shagged and currently female Norse deity in his bed.

Breakfast arrived discreetly downstairs, and Tony brought up a tray, with coffee and orange juice and a small vase of purple tulips. Loki languidly turned around and sat up to inhale all the orange juice. "What else would you like to do today?" Tony asked. "Unless you need to, you know, once more steal something everybody would totally give you if only you asked, just to be contrary, the way you do?"

"No?" she said, sweetly innocent in a way only people that aren't ever are. "Don't we have a conference to attend on some truly advanced magic, or technology, that you paid for with a small fortune that to all but you would be a great fortune indeed?" Tony shrugged, wondering what she might still want with it. "You really want to go there? I mean, since when are you doing what they're making you do? That's not like you, is it?" Loki took a mug of coffee and sipped, smiling over it. She hadn't reapplied her lipstick this time, and looked much more Loki-like without it. It was disconcerting in a way Tony found unexpectedly hot. "Didn't I hear your friend Bruce is there?" she finally said. "And Erik Selvig who used to work with the tesseract? I might have some questions for them. Honest, serious questions." Tony raised his eyebrows. "And if they don't feel up to answering them, under the circumstances, it might still be amusing to see them flail."
