Yes, I can swim. Have done it all my life, actually. And I'm not really worried about the North Atlantic, either, as I can take the cold. However, I do really live on dry land, in Munich, to be precise. I am a bit worried about poor Bruce, though, in the waters off Alaska: at the con, he didn't strike me as an inveterate fridge-sitter the way I am. He must be cold there...
BTW, don't know if I ever told you this, but when I was in Germany my first time, during the summer of 1992, I went to Munich and stayed in the area around a week. I thought the central area of Munich was among the loveliest looking cities I'd ever seen. It had a kind of special glow. Maybe it was all the yellow buildings (a popular color, seemed to me).
