Heh. I haven't even seen my parents' one this year, but it tends to take longer.

This year was especially fast. They didn't even have to tie it to the radiator with twine for it to remain upright.

LOL - I should have taken some pics of what my mother an I did two days ago - pretty much the same. Only our tree's taller and goes on the floor. :-D

That's cute and efficient.

Meanwhile, my parent's tree has been up for a few weeks and has managed to shed needles EVERYWHERE (see chimney fire story on my LJ). It looks like a molting bird.

We used to have taller trees as well, only now my sister's got those little kids, so the Christmas tree has to be kept out of harm's way.

I don't think my parents would ever tolerate a plastic one - the alternative to a Christmas tree is no Christmas tree. I used to have a small plastic one as a kid, to play at Christmas with my dolls and teddy bears; that was the extent to which plastic pine was allowed in our place.

That's because of the kiddies; we used to have tall trees that stood on the floor, but what with little kids about, my parents thought it safer to have one up on the desk - which is what that table is, most of the year.
