EEEEEP!! Huuuuuge hairy spider!

Yes, yes, i know, the Australians won't be impressed, but Sphinx was rather, and I found it interesting.

This is the spider I mentioned in my last post. We found that when we emptied out the room which is now the game room in Sphinx' basement...

You're right, it wasn't all that huge. But I liked the hairiness and scariness of the thing. Also, my poor sister was rather impressed.

How big was it?

Yep, I realised that. It was dead as a dodo, too, poor thing. I'm not scaredf them; I try to let them live because they eat mosquitoes and suchlike, and that is entirely a good thing.

It was about two inches across, the way you see it here, from leg joint to leg joint.

Yep, I know it's not big. It's just big to my sister, who didn't previously have a spider-infested basement at all.

Also, I liked the hairiness of its legs that came out rather well in the picture.-

I would have set the whole room on fire, just to be sure that there is no spiders left.
Did you check if the spider was complete and really dead? They change skins like snakes when they grow out of the old one. Not that i want to scare your sister but...

Oh, we hoovered in quite a number of these dead spiders; this was just the most remarkable speccimen.

There was a small live spider I tried to leave alive and paint around, but unfortuntely, the poor thing committed suicide in the fresh paint, which I regretted.

That whole spider was about three to four centimetres across; nothing to be afraid of. Despite tekalynn's comment, Aragog it was not...
