Last week's edition of the German political magazins Der Spiegel carries a story that happenend in the indescibably boring and revolting village where I work.

Something happened there. Something worth writing up in a magazine, even. I can't believe it!!

Well, maybe it's already summer. They will even write about a litter of rabbits when times get tough ;o) Or has it really been worth writing about, like in "newsworthy"?

It is a cautionary tale about a woman who married a bloke from Tunesia more than a decade ago, but he recently got religion, separated from her and abducted their two little sons to his home country. She followed. The courts there actually gave custody to her, but he abducted them to Saudi-Arabia now where she can't even follow, that being the most extreme and talibanish country there is.

This may be true, but it is being reported with a clear slant of 'this is what is going to happen when a Western woman marries a muslim man', so I call it a cautionary tale regardless of its content of factual information.
