Ginormous picspam

So, my visitors have gone, I don't have a hangover at all (some wine, and two pints of cider definitely weren't enough for that), Lucifer has gone to get some sleep which he sorely lacked the last two days as everything was soooooo exciting - now I finally get to edit and post almost a month's worth of pictures.

That's why I'm going to post them in sections, so you can decide what part you want to look at.

 Part I: Atlanteans visiting

(I linked their pictures of the event here; these are my take now)

And the promised ghost-hunting icon - at last!

Three unseasonable little red things by the old orphanage - a blushing daisy

Three unseasonable little red things by the old orphanage - a little red flower

Three unseasonable little red things by the old orphanage - a wild strawberry!!!

The candle I lit at the Orthodox church was a double one - not on purpose! I decided it was lucky

[livejournal.com profile] cracicotus  at the Greek restaurant - note the retsina keg in the background!

The medieval Christmas market in front of the Siemens headquarters

Putative Siemens headquarters employees (where else should these come from for that event?) quaffing their minds away from huge goblets

Part II: Christmas with the fambly

Me trying out a big black Australian hat - unfortunately, the Little Lady missed the hat when taking the picture

The Little Lady and her littlest brother, Fynn

The beautiful Art Nouveau church where we went for the Gospel mass

Me on a bracing walk on Boxing Day, especially sporty due to Nordic Walking sticks and fast shoes (AKA veganskis)

At the Icon Museum in Frankfurt - the icon of Saint Sophia (the abstract wisdom of God, not the martyr)

The Little Lady and the ion of her patron saint...

Frankfurt skyline - MM people, please note the triangular shape of the 'Messeturm' in the background - we know that as the 'PB' of Pangolin Tower

A building in Wiesbaden that combines old and new with comparative success

Part III: New Year down the pub

Markus, my brother-in-law, being a Fosters ad

[livejournal.com profile] nazgulwears being a Fosters ad, now with added logo...

[livejournal.com profile] nazgulwears  and me so not peering at the drunken orc with the semi-finished tattoo behind us

The half-finished tattoo of the drunken orc behind us, in greater detail

Fireworks greeting the New Year

More fireworks

Even more fireworks

Sphinx and Markus admiring the fireworks. For a given value of 'admiring'.

I was going to wish you Happy New Year in German, then realized I didn't have the foggiest idea how to decline anything. so I'll wish you, whole-heartedly, Happy New Year in English! My best to you and Lucifer and Little Lady and the Nazgul.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, they're great.

Ein Gutes Neue Jahr an dir und deinen! (wotthehell)

Wonderful!

I especially like the winter strawberry. And I can't help but agree on the building in Wiesbaden; saddly, in the US they would attempt to replicate the old building in EIFS (styrofoam sprayed with 2 or 3 mm of concrete) and it would end up looking just plain tacky!

Happy New Year.
