1. Can you cook?:
Yes. I can cook foods from a lot of different places in the world. I especially like making soups and desserts.
2. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?:
After calling for help with the help phone, calling on my cell phone, etc., I'd sit down and read probably.
3. What talent(s) do you wish you had?:
Not exactly a talent, but I do wish I were a better housekeeper.
4. Describe for me your favourite place?:
Central Park, any location in the park, any time of year, is beautiful and filled with interesting people, animals and vistas.
5. Favourite vegetable? how do you like it?:
I eat a ton of vegetables so it's hard to pick a vegetable. However, I will pick potatoes, because they're so versatile. My favorite way to eat them is in potato pancakes / latkes.
6. What was the last book you read? what did you think about it?:
I'm rereading The Merro Tree by Katie Waitman right now. It's a sci fi novel involving a famous "performance master" and, among other things, a same-sex, interspecies relationship between him (a "biped") and a sentient snake.
7. What kind of Tattoos and/or Piercings do you have?:
I have my ears pierced, that's it.

Interrupting people.

1. Do we know each other outside of livejournal, if so, how?:
Yes. Through Storm C. & Wraeththu fandoms, meeting up at Grissecon, visits to Munich, etc., etc.
2. What is your philosophy(ies) on life?:
Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
3. Are you a Negative or Optimistic person?:
It depends on the situation. There are some things I can be very optimistic about and other things (like the future of this planet) that I'll always be doom and gloom about.
4. What was your dream growing up?:
To be a famous writer.
5. Worst thing to ever happen to you?:
Some of the things that happened to me growing up, ages 5-12, were pretty awful. I'll always feel like a freak.
6. What is/are your favorite animal(s)?:
Dogs, cats, small furry things (like guinea pigs), emus, wild cats, bugs, whales, jellyfish, penguins.
7. Tell me one weird fact about you?:
I can play music (actual songs) by tapping on my teeth.
8. What is your favourite period of art?:
1920s/30s Art Deco / Streamline Moderne / Futurism, in painting, sculpture, prints, furniture, architecture, etc. Example: Rockefeller Center in NYC.

Writer.

OMG, you are SO fun! I would never, ever call you boring.

Not really.

I talk to myself, acting out made up scenes from fanfic type situations, or thinking out loud, then I talk the cat, then I settle down.

Probably, because I think you would exhibit good judgement.

Probably tell you. Although I don't have any big secrets.

Move out of Atlanta, buy a nice townhouse in Chicago, invest the rest of the money to live comfortably.

Severe mental illness.

Web surfing, LJ, doing stuff with the cat, watching documentaries on TV, crossword puzzles, peoplewatching, shopping.

I have wide tastes in music, including Classical, Industrial, Pop, 1950s/1960s rock, Big Band Jazz, klezmer music, Bollywood pop, etc. But my favorite artists: Beatles, Bjork, Dead Can Dance, Depeche Mode, Einstuezende Neubaten, Kraftwerk, Madonna, Morrissey, Klaus Nomi, Queen, Sinead O'Connor, Simon & Garfunkel, The Smiths, Tit Wrench, U2. Plus Mozart and Beethoven.
21. Can you sing, dance, or play an instrument?:
I can sing, dance and play (basic level) piano, flute, recorder and harmonica.
22: If you write, what have you written that pleased you most and can I read it? :
My unfinished novel Tarimur. If you want to read it, I can send the first four chapters, which are done. I really need to get back to it, but I can't find the right moment.

I can draw and paint but can't think of any favorites. I do like some of the black and red artwork I posted in Inception one time.

2. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?: If I had a book/paper and pen etc I would be happy to sit there and amuse myself til rescued. If I had nothing to do I'd probably shout a lot.
3. What talent(s) do you wish you had?: I wish I could sing well
4. Describe for me your favourite place?: A v-shaped valley with a stream running through it. One one slope there's scrub oak and bracken, on the other huge beech trees. Close to the top of it is an open grassy place with a very clear cold spring bubbling out from under the roots of a huge old oak tree. It's about 20 minutes walk from my house.
5. Favourite vegetable? how do you like it?: French beans steamed with black pepper and butter and pine nuts
6. What was the last book you read? what did you think about it?: Dirty by Megan Hart.
7. What kind of Tattoos and/or Piercings do you have?: Pierced ears only. Tatts and piercings make my husband squirm so though I'd like something else I'm stuck as I am.

20. What is your favorite type of music? if so, any favourite artists:? I like rock - the old favourites like Led Zep and Sabbath - but I also like the dear little Finns like HIM, the Rasmus, Nightwish etc.

3. What talent(s) do you wish you had?: I'm happy as I am believe it or not.
4. Describe for me your favourite place?: the mist rises slowly from the lake, as the river rushes over the weir. The early grey light is slowly brightening to gold as the sun creeps over the trees. Five Arches, at dawn on New Years Day, by the way, the water is icy cold and walking across the weir barefoot is not recommended but it don't half wake you up!
5. Favourite vegetable? how do you like it?: Cauliflower, in cheese sauce.
6. What was the last book you read? what did you think about it?: "No Rest for the Wicked" Er, romantic escapist fiction with a Vampire and a Valkyrie playing the leads... different, entertaining and yes, fun.

2. What is your philosophy(ies) on life?: Live it, you don't get many second chances, and don't regret even the bad choices, so long as you learned something it wasn't a complete waste of time.
3. Are you a Negative or Optimistic person?: Optimistic, but with a healthy dose of realism - I plan for the worst, that way my surprises are always good ones!
4. What was your dream growing up?: To be a housewife and mother of four (THANK GOD THAT DIDN'T COME TRUE!!!!)
5. Worst thing to ever happen to you?: Last year. (Divorce, Son diagnosed Autistic, nearly lost my house, did lose my career....)

Fave Artists? Faith Hill, Reba McEntire, Queen, Scissor Sisters, Glenn Miller, Elvis, The Beatles, um, all sorts.
