Why is there no sequel to 'Van Helsing'?

The movie was successful enough, I'd think; the end actually invites another story featuring Van Helsing, Karl, and some classic movie monsters, and one always likes to see Hugh Jackman with long hair being tough...

Am I obsessed...

...if I make a complicated and thoroughly thought through animated icon that I am most likely going to use for one post and/or three comments only? Like, ever?
