Paradigm shift
Okay, there is a change in the wind.
People are starting conversations about being 'fat affirming', and there's this funny little Brit bopper who sings that 'big girls are beautiful', while walking ahead of a cheerful, colourful set of happy fat women through the deathly boring centre of what I was assured is Croydon. And he's not being denigrating or taking the Mickey. It's a fun summer song.
You know, sadness, self-loathing, low self-worth and all the rest of the emo bag of tricks makes people feel much heavier than actual pounds and stones and kilos.
Hey, we can hop and skip dance and cheer, and sucks to the rest of the world. The rest is technicalities.-

Because my wellbeing? Springs from my mind more than anything.

Some of my best cheering up recently has come from Lucifer, actually. I'd be going round the bend with worry about our houses being torn down and all of us getting moved somewhere else - but then there's that little red critter bringing me his little red squishy ball to throw, and all that angst just curls up and dies.

And then I duck while Caleb and you defend Luckie and Sophie respectively... *grins*

Not to mention, my health is suffering. So, I made the decision to go ahead and change the little things in my diet that could help me to lose weight, and it's working. No starvation, no suffering (apart from the fact that I'm sick as hell right now with tonsillitis), and no weighing and measuring. Just a few simple changes to what I eat.
And yeah, Mika's song does give me a reason to smile, I'm never going to be a sylph, I wouldn't feel like me, and I would be uncomfortable being that way. I guess if other people find me attractive, they can't all be blind or stupid, so maybe I am. And that's now. Oh yes, I have the low self-esteem thing in spades, er, JCB digger buckets....
As for the hopping and skipping and dancing? Ooooh, careful, all that exercise will make you skinny.....
