Why is it that, the more channels you have on your TV, the more rubbish is on it?

I have a satellite receiver now, and all I get in addition to the normal cable channels is dozens of Italian sex channels and Arabian news. The satellite that carries the truly interesting British channels isn't received by our dish.-

I know, my family has cable and we don't get BBC America, not fair.

And dozens and dozens and dozens of channels full of trash and weirdness. I have one channel in Basque, and two in Kurdish!! But not the BBC. What were they thinking?

Yep, who needs that Austrian crap. And I'm sure we have at least three shopping channels.
I only need ARD, ZDF, Pro7 (Simpsons) -> they are next to each other and Arte, Phoenix, 3Sat -> also another cluster. No idea where Vox is though. If they have something interesting on I'll find them. :-)
Do I get money back if I return all other channels? :-D

Sorry. No money back. The junk channels, the ones that do wife-swap and ancient Big Brother candidates from Cologne hosting phone-in game shows, and sex line advertising at night? Those are the free ones.-

It is. I can't watch it on tv because we don't get those channels but try to keep up with it on iPlayer. So much good stuff!

Pity about the geofiltering, though.

On the other hand, if the Beeb left all their programs freely available, then nobody would watch anything else, and all the nasty little channels in Italy, Germany, France and so on that pay the Beeb good money in licensing fees (especially for documentaries) would go bust...
