Drive-by picture post
There will be many more pictures, but for now, have a dead Goth and an arcane joke.
We DID see a dead Goth! I thought the vaulted structure in the excavation area beside the tomb of Theodoric might be some lesser grave; only now, when I blew up the picture on my computer at home, did I see the bones.
And then, I made an arcane joke. Very arcane -- I expect nobody to spot the reference! Even my mother only got it when I told her, repeatedly, that I would show her later.-
Which, as it turned out, I never did...

Whenever I hear about how the Goths invading Rome in 410 AD I have this image in my mind of hordes of smartly dressed boys and girls wearing black lipstick and eyeliner breaking down the city walls and rushing through the streets.
