Down he drain went:

• the heating in our favourite art nouveau swimming pool -- seems that Munich is too broke to heat the water properly. That's our contribution to the world economic crisis. Dear Barack Obama -- please make it go away!
• my nose -- it is leaking! It has no business to do so. It's bona fide spring now.
• the card reader at the office building around the corner. Perhaps it works for the consulting roaches, but the poor charwoman who tried in vain to get in, couldn't. She looked very scruffy, and I felt sorry for her.

At least there is no conficker on my computer. I checked.

Sad about the pool.

Here our sad excuse for a transit system is talking about having to stop Friday service or maybe weekend service. Yes, I mean, STOP SERVICE! Stupid state government not willing to do what it has to to help, which is simply allow MARTA to spend funds it already has on non-capital projects, i.e. running the trains and buses. It's a "city problem."

If I end up biking to work or out on the weekend, I guess it's good but I will still blame rednecks.

That is idiotic -- shouldn't people e encouraged to use public transport more? Stopping it is not the way to do it.

Thank you so much for posting that conficker link! I've been looking for a simple, easy way to check for the virus that didn't involve downloading some huge virus sweeping software. (How sad is it that Microsoft wasn't even offering a tool that would check for conficker that was compatible with Vista?)

Sad? Not surprising at all. It is Microsoft. Ginormous source of monstrous bullshit...
