Question meme from [livejournal.com profile] ways_back_room

Ask a character a question, any question, and they HAVE to answer completely honestly. Have to. It's the meme rule. Even if they'd normally lie, they suddenly have been hit with a truth serum of some kind and must tell the truth. Bwaha.

My characters are:

Teja - [livejournal.com profile] ostro_goth
Donvan Reece - [livejournal.com profile] born_to_it
Asar-Suti - [livejournal.com profile] asar_suti
Tower - [livejournal.com profile] destroy_restart

Teja, are there any of your actions that you reject from your previous life?

Donovan, what is your perfect mate like?

Tower, what is the hardest part of being what you are?

Yes. I should have armed and trained such young women as wished to, and left the last line of defence to them. We never needed that last line, as it turned out. It would have allowed me to start the morning's sortie with more men, and it would have bought us all time in our last battle; we would have killed more enemies, and more of my men would have lived to go to the north-lands with the Vikings from Gotland. I know not why I was blind to that chance: after all, I had trained Hilde in using shield and spear when we were young. My cultural blinkers wasted a valuable chance there.

It might not be what you would like to hear -- I should reject having shed so much blood, or at least the massacre at Cumae? But I only reject my disregard for the proud, fighting spirit of our women.

I should say that I want a swanmane that shares my responsibilities with me, takes me just for what I am and is part of my life; but after a few weeks of Milliways, I really treasure not doing what I should.

I think it would be a woman whose life is totally different, with a busy life andd strong passions of her own. She does her thing, I do mine, an we intersect from time to time and refill our batteries with each other. We'd support each other when needed, not like a secret affair or anything, but I think I'd prefer equality and respect to perfect compatibility.

I'm rather sure it would be a woman; I have been with guys at times, but it's an eighty/twenty thing for me; I can't see my twenty percent winning on the field of commitment, if you know what I mean.

It's how stupid people are and how they do the same silly things over and over and over, like butterflies beating their wings against windowpanes. People never learn, they have this deep need to constantly reinvent the wheel, to go through their lives and their species' history in cataclysmic cycles that never, ever give you the impression that this time, they really learned something for next time.

Nope. No such luck. They do it over and over and over. Just wait, and they'll burn books again.-
