The German publisher seems to have high hopes for our dear old Phil Rickman! Look at this -- huge poster ads for 'Midwinter Of The Spirit' in the train station.

They do that sort of advertising only for books they hope to turn into best-sellers.

The tagline 'Dark rituals, death and devil' might be a bit misleading, though...

Not yet -- I saw her post, and have been waiting for it since then. The postal orcs have lots of work at this time of year. I hope they'll come over with it before I have to go to Wiesbaden next week Tuesday.

I will! But really, I look forward to just experiencing the smells as smells. I guess as imps are rather small, I'll wear one scent once or twice, and if I'm lucky, I get a memory that'll remain joined with that scent.

Actually, an imp has about 1/32oz of potent oil. One imp, even if you 'slather' the scent, can usually manage about five or six applications before the imp is used up. The oils are intensely scented, so you don't need a whole lot. I've yet to use up whole imps I've been using for the last... two years. ^_^

They do seem to be trying to titillate the reall horror fans as opposed to the cosy rural chiller fans. I only hope they aren't disappointed.

Well, there is some real horror in this one, if I remember correctly, even though I do read them for the cosy rural stuff, and the way the characters develop, and the interesting tradition they unearth, as much as the suspense.-
