Oh that cat!

Mephisto spends entirely too much of his time upright on his hind legs, doing stuff with his paws. And he puts things into my work bag that I have to fish out so I won't take a well-chewed macramée snake and an empty ribbon spindle to work.

He'll be asking for boots and a rapier next. And a hat with a big feather.-

If he asks you to sit in a pond and look despondent, you'll know something's up, Mme. Marquise de Carabas!

Harry is fiendishly attached to his pompoms. I buy them in packs intended for some sort of craft work, but to him they are the ultimate prey. He throws them in the air, across the room, and today I got him hysterical buy hiding them under a transparent bowl, which took him ages to figure out. (Luckie walked right up, flipped the container over and walked away.) A few months ago I was at work and felt something in my shoe. I took off my shoe and of course there was a giant pompom in there, courtesy of Harry, who drops them in just so he can pull them out again.

Harry has gone to the trouble of stealing one single Christmas ornament -- a little red felt bird -- off of my tree something like two dozen times. Doesn't touch anything else, just that. He deposits on the living room floor for me.
