Wait. The Pope said what? Really?

He said that the exodus of Christians from the 'Holy Land' should be stopped, and all Christians were called upon to help with that. He said so during his visit to Cyprus.

And my inner!Urquhart immediately recognised the verbiage from the time of the crusades, so while the whole of what the pope said was mostly bla bla bla, those ancient details really jumped out at me. Inner!Urquhart, in this case, is really just my attention for the historical context of that charrie; I don't really claim to be talking to headvoices while reading the news...

P.S.: In fact, I have just sent the link to a well-read blogger who specialises in political messes; he's among those credited with breaking that wussy president of ours after he said we were in Afghanistan to protect our economic interests.
