Kaltenberg 2010 -- picture post

There weren't that many new things this year in Kaltenberg, so this post gets a bit eclectic. For more general pictorial explanations, refer to the post from former years, found through the 'Kaltenberg' tag on my journal.

We went on a Sunday, which meant it was full of kids. That wasn't as bad, actually, as we'd thought. What was bad was that there were hardly any visitors in costume, and nobody cheered for the Black Knight, except us, more or less. We decided not to go on a Sunday again. If we get trouble with rain again, we'll just not go.

But on to the pictures!

The Nazgul in her Scottish costume. A certain tendency towards the colour blue cannot be denied...

I'd let down my arisaidh at that point as it was getting warm.

Some guy asked us a question; all the mundanes seemed to thing everybody in costume had to be a participant and KNOW where everything was and what it was good for. So we answered him, but in turn asked him to take our picture together with my camera.

There were remarkably few people at the photo and signing op, compared to other years. We didn't have anything to get signed, but did take pictures. The bad guys still look best.

This bloke was rather more Scottish than we were. But more contemporary, too.

A bit later we found the tent where the Black Knight was holding court with one of his allies and the boss of the stunt troupe. He'd ceded the great chair to the boss. They had a belly dancer in for entertainment, too.

The boss and some kid and said ally of the Black Knight, applauding the belly dancer.

Why is it that evil slouches so prettily?

The Nazgul with the Black Knight's ally (one of the stunt performers as well).

And then, I wanted my picture taken with a guy in armour, too. (One of the participants on foot.)

We had blackcurrant wine before we left, but found we were already a bit knackered.

The Nazgul was so knackered, she fell asleep on the train.
