Just added a thinkgeek.com address to my email address book because I had set up an email alert for the scratching post bigfluffball pointed me to, and found I had several addresses for one of my favourite science fiction authors in there, from when I had to interview him.

Still not emailing him to ask the one pertinent question about Sirona, because of getting Word of God especially to play a charrie in an online RPG would be cheating...

But so tempted!

Having spent ages to build a more sturdy perfect house (not to mention a ceiling high tree) I never painted or covered it nicely (thinking often that cardboard blends in better, link mercifully excluded). My cats have their corners and crannies, but that scratching post seems just awesome...

For some reason, my cats aren't interested in cardboard boxes at all.

I didn't mean the post, they never look at these scratching cardboards or I'd have made them one. Just the silly cars and planes.
Mine love plastic sacks. Kendra loves any tiny bag or container, but both love the huge clear ones. Filthy filthier filthiest is best. And when I finally get them the one crunch tunnel that really is popular and good, and casually place it somewhere, K won't use it. Get a smaller lighter one with more holes. No-ho. So. I need someone to buy a washing machine and give me the clear bag. Alternatively, a behavioural correction therapist (for K ... or me? Hm).

My cats never really look at any expensive store-bought toys twice, but have endless hours of fun with scraps of sheepskin from a medieval market.

Although things from medieval market don't sound cheap and OF COURSE, just like babies, they don't give a toss about packaging (except for loving the packaging, ah, those bubble wrap things and the padded envelopes, years of love they lavish on them).

OT ETA: you just made me remember that I dreamed of James Frain (I am sure one of the trio was him, the other Ben Chaplin) standing naked at a street corner and just waiting for me/people to realise he was in fact doing that. They might have started swaggering. *cocks head and thinks long and hard* I don't know why I dreamed that. I should post but ... at least I know you know him.

The sheepskin was free; it was the long strip around the edges of an actual sheepskin the trader had cut off to make it look neater. When I said I'd like some cheap scraps for my cats to play with, the trader gave me that long strip and said he had cats as well. Mephi was so over the moon with it, I took a photo and showed it to the trader two days later, when the Nazgul and I went back.

More people know who James Frain is, now that he was in the third season of 'True Blood'. I love how he picks those very odd and quirky parts.

They do have a fake sheepskin fur one. Amongst all the other stuff. Anything slightly furry is bitable.


Oh dear .. no, no, I will not watch Sookie though.

Sookie and Bill, I could regularly thwap with a wet towel. But some of the secondary characters are quite fun.
