Corner bench in full kiddie!party action

My sister sent me pictures of that infamous corner bench, now with the room complete, the last seat upholstered as well, and everything decorated for the joint birthday party they had for the little boys today (whose birthdays are within four days of each other).




It's easy to guess that this little boy really likes football. Oh, and dinosaurs. He's one of those little dinosaur experts, you know the type?



Now with the last seat upholstered as well!

Oh yes, so very entertaining! I spent some time with this little guy last weekend verifying on the internet what kind of dinosaurs the life-sized replicas in front of Senckenberg museum in Frankfurt were (where they live is basically a suburb of Frankfurt).

My living room is done! Books all clean and organized.

No, you probably didn't, as it was full of excited six- to eight-year-old kids, mostly boys. I'm glad I wasn't there!

And I'd like to see pictures of your renovations and all the purple and lavender...

I posted one pic of the home makeover on my journal -- cleaning en progres. :)

My living room is RED (most awesome!) and my back room is gold. My bedroom is a rich blue, the kids' rooms are purple and lilac.

I am painting boards right now to make more bookshelves.

Oh, and I found my couch until the pile of this summer's reading.

My younger male cousin was one of those as a wee lad and had the fearsome dream and motivation to become a real official expert when he grew up.

Now...as a real life quasi-grown up he has the dream (and the tattoo) but not the motivation.

We'll see where that little fellow gets to when he grows up. Whether he'll change the flavour of his geekery before he gets old enough to get a tattoo.

Being a Little Dinosaur Expert, though, is mostly a phase on the road to something else; it just trains the mind of the incipient geek.
