Hei, woelfle, tonight I did howl like a wolf!

I was at an impromptu party with some friends, barbecue in the rain and all that, and they had a dog, and demonstrated how that dog would howl with them if they howled first. I chimed in, and in the end the whole partyful of people howled like wolves, the dog ecstatically joining us:

Yes!! It was great fun; I howled with abandon, but one of the hosts actually led the pack in the howl, which was interesting to observe: at first we howled in unison, but later we became bolder and the howl grew staggered, as a real howl among real wolves. I was not afraid of carrying the howl on my own until the next one chimed in (or while everybody else laughed at the dog); but I am a tad hoarse today. Must train better...

I maintain even we were better wolves than Monsterwolf!Remusthing.

I have been spreading that word, but pronouncing the bang in the middle is a bit of a bother...

Sorta thing. The dog was actually reddish, with a blond mane like a lion. Very interesting critter.

I so envy you. Yep, it is fun, howling with a pack (if you can download stuff on your computer,check this, or, wow, I'd like to have known about this 3 years ago...), and even a real dog. :-D

I once howled a bit on the street with a friend, and then there was this little dog who dug its feet into the ground, staring at me, and refused to be led on by its granny owner. Just brilliant.
Oh, and that other time, when we were having a campfire out at the river, and I howled at the moon, and from somewhere in town, a dog answered. When my friend tried, it didn't, though, which quite pissed him off.

Yes, so I have gladly joined the Great Howl, spurred on by what you told me, plus the spirit of the moment. There is a phylogenetically or shamanistically remembered wolf in all of us, and the howl lets us discover "the way to the were-nature of our soul", to quote myself from a poem I have recently written for RPage purposes...

Phylogenetically = development of the species, carrying with it the connotation that we have unused remnants of earlier evolutionary stages within us. Embryos having tails and all that, you know.

Yes, my RP life is interesting. The whole RPG is very interesting; I have often confessed to it having "eaten my brain". You've been there for a while, or are at least watching us, aren't you?

Here is the whole poem; it's not about wolves more, but about the phases of the moon, and emotions being changeable but recurrent just like them.

Ah, ze accent. It might haff somezing to do vizz zer fact zat it is made in eqval parts out of two roundvorld languages called German and French, vhich I happen to be sorte of familiair vizz.

Plus, it iss great fun to rrite and tends to convince any infidels zat I am truly a, how does vone say, nut's case? annoy unsuspecting readers.

Vell, zo am I, in fact. I can do zer 'accent as vell if I haff to, but I trry to avoid it - it makes my characters look zo zilly. In loggage, of course, vhen zey 'arre speaking, I am qvite villing to do it...

"Rrite", you zay, offering me zer last missing element for zer verry harrd 'accent I vill haff to use zoon forr my prresent main character in forthcoming loggage: how to do zer harrd "R". I vas ztill vonderring whther I should trry a double "rr" or rrather a "rh".

We've got a reptile inside us as well as a mammal. But I have to say I prefer the wolf.
