Potential move to Dreamwidth

As registration is open until the end of the month, I'll just make my emergency character journals* over there on Boxing Day, when my sister and her fambly are gone to see their in-laws. I don't know what´s got into LJ to treat their paying customers like that, (ab)using their admin privileges to counter their protest and get-outs, but it seems they're totally mis-estimating their customer base.

At that point, I'll install the workaround on my character journals as well so OOMs are still fun while we are over here/if we stay over here.

But until then, I'll be busy keeping little Jón's hands off my computer, and doing much online stuff will be hard, and family time more important.


* I'll be taking Teja, Urquhart, Lorenzo, Margolotta and Tamara, if we move. The rest I don't really need all that urgently, much as I do like them.

That's about where I'm at too. I'm currently importing my mun LJ, characters will be set up after the holiday and I'll mirror my mun stuff and back up various things as I have the time.

I don't even have the time to import the mun journal yet; everything has to wait until the 26th.

As soon as moving comms works, I'll mirror collected_fudz and thronathon as well.

This journal is in the queue to import today. I have no idea if it'll get done before I go to sleep, but I'm not stressing about it. I'm with family and there are holidays to be enjoyed.

Ditto! I'll go to bed as soon as the current history documentary about the North Sea is over, and I've read the screech-out-loud funny conversation Karkat had with Kanaya about Teja (whom he finds majorly scary).

At least I have presents for everybody, got them wrapped and everything.

Oh nice, there's some good stuff over in the Bar. My holiday cards are sent off and I have one more present to send to a friend but she'll understand if it's a little late.

In a little bit, I'm going off to an open house with my parents. Sleep well when you do.

I am so fed up with LJ. I cannot post anything to save my life, the cuts don't work and if they do, it's in triplicate. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

DW is small and very nice. I like it a lot. Plus they give you lots of warning before they shut down.

And posting is easy.

And the cuts work.

Yep, it seems LJ has made too many people angry this time, they will all stage a mass exodus, and I'll go with them as not to lose my usual hang-out.

And I'd miss my characters. Horribly. I'd have to write original works all by me onesies if I didn't have them...

I pay for my LJ account and got all sorts of extras and always buy the little virtual gifts. I really am fed up with their problems. The fact that I have to sit there posting in html and fixing every damn sentence (which in a multi-chapter fic is just so.much.fun!) ---

Well, something seems to be wrong with the general setup of your journal, anyway. I never see any of the posts on my flist, even though I see them all when I especially visit your journal.

LJ screwed up there at some stage before, I guess.
