The fish are in the tank, and the actual flushing mechanism is in the wall behind it, I would guess?

Fun idea! Especially if one has cats and/or blokes in one's household.

Yes, the toilet tank sits inside of the fish tank -- it's very water efficient. The fish don't get flushed down! That would rather defeat the purpose. LOL

Have you tried toilet-training Mephi and Lucifer?

I heard about it, but I didn't. They use their litter box fine, why upset that? Never fix a running system.

Apparently they get addicted to flushing. They will spend hours flushing the toilet just to watch the water go down.

That can get expensive in drought-stricken Texas....

I actually don't trust my cats with an open toilet -- they might slam down the lids on their own heads while being rambunctious.

Worse, Mephi may decide to decapitate Lucifer so as to up his treat portion and eliminate the shared affection ratio.

And then, he'd be dreadfully bereft because my cats love each other very much. Even though they sometimes fight like, well, alley cats...

They really do love one another! Last night there must have been five cats hanging around looking at the babies. I actually knew a Siamese cat (she was psycho) who would adopt kittens. I kid you not. One day I saw her trying to carry off one who was a full two months old!
