1. Where is the scariest place you have been?

The Solfatara, walking in the crater of a gently bubbling volcano.

2. What is the worst movie you have seen?

There was this modern Hamlet version Falk once gave the Nazgul and me to watch, thinking we might like it. I think we lasted ten minutes, then ejected it with disgust. It had famous people, but it was infinitely pretentious and boring.

3. What is one unpopular opinion that you would like to share?

Health At Every Size, and the general idea of body autonomy. Where I live online, it's rather accepted and anyway considered rude to put people down for being different or having an odd and geeky opinion, but there is so much completely needless suffering IRL for people beating themselves up for having an imperfect body! Folks, accept yourselves and deal with the real problems!

4. What was the first CD that you ever bought?

Something by the Pet Shop Boys in a pretentious solid orange case. Before that, I didn’t have a CD player, just a tape deck and record player. The first vinyl I ever bought was one of the Band Aid famine charity ones in the early to mid-eighties. Yep, my taste in music needed developing at first...

5. What are some of your favorite songs of the moment?

Oh, there are lots! I just discovered this delightful oddity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-saw_CkEMDE&feature=relmfu

6. What is your ultimate comfort food?

Noodle soup with egg in. My grandmother used to make that for me when I was sick as a child.

7. What is the weirdest thing you have ever tasted?

Hákarl. Google at your own risk!

9. Where is the farthest place from home you have ever been?

Japan

10. What fantasy world would you like to live in?

Most of them are pretty grim. Much as I love GoT, I wouldn't want to live in Westeros! I guess, ultimately, I'd go with the Discworld.

11. Is there an accent that you wish you had or really love?

I can't imitate accents, and don't really have one. I wish I could do credible Scottish when speaking English, and Bavarian when speaking German.
