Last 5K of the year

Today, we went for another 5K walk (me) or run (the Nazgul) at a little place on the outskirts of Munich. Very small Sportverein thing, family atmosphere, just a few hundred runners, not thousands. We had the Little Lady (who is visiting me at the moment) along, and she took pictures of us. Here, we are getting ready to start, pinning on our numbers etc.

The Nazgul, arriving.

The Nazgul, still arriving.

And here I am, arriving and clowning off for my Little Lady and my old camera...

I was in fact roughly ten minutes faster than the other times, and even faster than I had hoped to be, so I did have reason to feel happy about it.

It sucks because the Siamese putty tat and the Mephi-putty tat are curled up in one another's arms and if I had a camera, I would totally send it to you as your reward!!!

Mazel tov mazel tov!!!

Yes another trainer. I trapped them and had them neutered and now they are relocating to kill mice and make new friends. :)

It's a terrific life. They live in the safety of the barns (better chance of surviving -- coyotes, etc), are fed and cared for, and don;t have to have any interaction with the human race if they choose not to. :)

I want to be Leopold. He is so unflappable. His favorite thing in life is rubbing against my feet.

Isn't it strange that we are so tolerant of the damage they do? The kittens trashed the house (they went up for adoption today at the Humane Society) and yet it didn't anger me at all.

But if one child throws french fries on the floor of my car -- V.V

Yes but is it not the case that cats can be spoiled just like any other animal (including children)? For instance I have three new horses I am training. The one I hate is the one who is a spoiled brat. The other two have no owners so I find I am much more patient with them. Because the one mare is constantly given treats and fussed over, I have zero tolerance for her nonsense.

On the other hand, I spoil the cats rotten -- they get rotissiere chicken, Maru! And when they are bratty I just want to scoop them up and smooch them.

My point is -- there is a lot of hypocrisy in cat ownership!

I am beginning to think there are fundamental differences between cat people and the rest of the human race...
