Oh yes, the Nazgul and I enjoyed it as well. I liked the oodles of references to classical Bond. That Komodo dragon pit -- ahahahah! And the Aston Martin got applause in the cinema where we were. Admittedly, we went on day two, in one of the only two original-version cinemas in Munich, so the people there were all some kind of enthusiasts.
But I swear, at the show-down at that chapel, the whole place was dead silent, and then there was this very low, little, breathy collective whimper as a few un-spoiled fans per row started sniffling...
You knew what was going to happen? I had no clue. I was stunned. It just seemed to me ---
well, I just can't imagine him without --
you know.
I have to say, I wasn't expecting to like this one (they tend to go downhill as they go on) but I thought it was so well done! I even loved Silva! (of course I love Javier Bardem.)
Oh no, I didn't -- I think I guessed trope-relatedly about five minutes before it happened. I went in completely unspoiled. I just wanted to see Bond!
And of course I loved Silva -- I am notoriously fond of stylish villains, as evidenced by my preference for Snape, Loki etc. However, I promise not to commit Bond/Silva fic.
However, talking of fic, I have recently started to seriously cull my commas, because often, a few commas make the difference between a tweetable tweet and too long.
Yep, you could hear half the cinema sort-of swallow and let out the bated breath and perhaps chuckle very quietly at that moment.
Also, slash doesn't have to be all long and meaningful relationships; short hate-sex one-time-stands sometimes work quite nicely as well. And one of those would even leave the canon characters intact...
That thought crossed thousands of minds in that scene. That was completely and utterly intentional, to judge from the level of meta they were doing in that movie. Movie writers read 'TV Tropes', too.
I am so sick of Joss's shows getting cancelled! It pisses me off to no end. V.V I guess Buffy got a full run but honestly this country's taste in tv is abyssmal.
Oh yes!! I hope that now, after the enormous success of 'The Avengers', they'll finally let him finish something. There is talk about a SHIELD TV series they'd let him develop and run...
I'm watching the Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton right now. They shot his dog! That would turn me into a huge ragemonster as well, albeit most likely a purple one...
He's a lot mousier than Ruffalo, that much I can say with certainty. More hectic, more scared. The Hulk itself in that movie looks horribly, unorganically electronic.

But LOVED the movie. My goodness that Daniel Craig is positively edible.
And Ben Whishaw!!!! I am so pleased to have him on board.

I rather liked that Bond/Silva moment. "What makes you think this is my first time?"
But Bond is so very heterosexual he could never ever appear in a slash fic.
Ever.

Yes, I changed the spelling for Kaylee (she came to me Kayly and I wanted her to have some continuity in her life since everything else is new).
