My new sports jacket is very brightly orange.

Also, I walked 5K in 1:05 h -- personal best. Must be the very, very familiar route to the old castle by the river Rhine that I often walk with my mum. She kept the time, and I just walked.-

It's very entertaining to watch! The cats have totally figured the game out (they are feral and smart). I always leave the cat door open so they can come in when they are hungry or when it is cold outside but Kaylee is warned not to go near them. So they literally will walk right up to her and hiss and Kaylee backs up. It is hilarious to witness!

You know once the guys are neutered they are passive, right? That's why barn owners won't keep the males. Chop their manhood off and they will never kill another mouse. So I have the males here (the females go to the barns -- they will hunt, whether they have babies or not) because they can't survive on their own. So to see them assert themselves with a 75 pound dog is hilarious! She could break their backs with one crunch.

Really?

Huh.

My experience (and the experience of everyone around here -- and some of these barns have been around for 40 years or more) is that the guys don't hunt. That's why the barn owners won't take them. They only want females.

Maybe it is different for cats raised in captivity? These come to us from the wild and somehow removing the testosterone makes them completely passive (you can pick them up after you neuter them, even if they don't like you. I can grab Leopold and hold him; before, he would have taken my flesh off).

God she is SMART! Pit bulls have such a terrible reputation because of dog fighting but they used to be the #1 family dog in America in the 1900s because they are so loyal and smart. Now that I own one, I will never own anything else. She is hands down the best dog I have ever had. <3

I know! I just saw that article!

http://tadsaw.org/

I never knew anything about pits except that they were supposed to be incredibly vicious. Then I met a few and found that they were so loving. After I lost Keeper, I went to look at a dog at the Humane Society but the dog in the opposite visitation room (a white female pit) totally caught my eye! I went home and googled Pit Rescue and headed out a week later to discover Kaylee. I fell in love with her at once and took her home the next day.

I am totally committed to this breed. I have been shocked by the amount of discrimination they face. The insurance companies don't want you to have them. As I sit watching Kaylee lick the four-year-olds in the back seat, I am truly baffled.

A Chihuahua attacked my sister when she was little and bit her lip off. She still has deep scars. :(

My sister hates dogs! She was the one that got me into cats (her partner was once married and raised Siamese cats to put her husband through college -- that's how I knew Siamese cats were valuable!).

My mom hates dogs too but they are both excited about Kaylee. My mom called yesterday to say "So I have a new grandchild?" (My sister ratted me out, I wasn't going to tell my mom until Kaylee was trained because she thinks I have too much on my shoulders and would be mad at me for taking on another project. But my brother is a professional dog trainer and he is coming down to help. :)

Yes my father loved animals and we used to bring home all the strays -- puppies, kittens, birds, kids, you name it. :D

He once caught a loose horse and put it in the back yard until the police came to take it away.

My brother did Search and Rescue dogs in the military.

The more I see of my fellow man, the more I love my dog/cat/horse.

No, I agree. But I can feel anger and frustration with people. I could never feel those towards an animal.
