I wrote a Milliways fic about Hannibal playing chess with Dracula and remembering his first visist to Paris that is pertinent to all the things, among them the de-aging plot that started in Milliways tonight.

It contains headcanon which is just an open invitation to be Jossed, but never mind...

I really hope they don't Joss your headcanon, because I rather like it. And there's seriously not enough acceptance of non-straight committed couples in mainstream TV. (Is Hannibal mainstream now? We're not just some weird little cult over here anymore?)

Yes, that's how I got the idea that something like this was actually an option. You know, beyond fannish daydreams. Because Bryan Fuller would be just the person to pull that off in network TV -- I think anything on ad-financed network TV is mainstream, and not a weird cult? Or rather, we might be a weird cult about an almost mainstream show...
