And another interview!

1) So what is YOUR favorite place? Bwahahaha, had to ask...

Mainau. The island of Mainau on Lake Constance, which is the most beautiful and fascinating garden I ever saw, and which has a castle, in the chapel of which one of the main characters from the historical novel I am writing is buried. It has flowers, and butterflies, and plants to buy and bring home, and Dmitri to get in tune with, which is rather challenging and creatively invigourating every time. And the lake around the island, and sailboats in the disctance. I have spent a few of the most perfect days in my life there.

Pictures are here.

2) Who are three of your favorite hara from the books... and and why are   they favorites?

Thiede, because he is so powerful and fascinating, and still so deeply hurt, and funny when he puts his divine feet on other people's dinner tables, and so transcends where he came from.

Panthera, because he is the Difficult One.

Ty as he is in Shades, because he is fighting and struggling so terribly to free himself from his self-definition of "I Am Not Cal."

3) So how hard was it pretending to be Raspy instead of yourself? What was the biggest challenge?

Not very hard - I had roleplayed/"simmed" before, and the only difference was that I was acting out the character among people who were for all practical purposes themselves - I'm not going to get into Avatar Theory here. The challenge was his language - his sentences had to be rather shorter than my own, but there was nothing remotely German allowed around his diction. I wanted the purported person playing him to appear to be an either Brit or Finn. Addie caught me out rather early on because of the phrase "randomly complicated". She was going frantic about him, of course, because she suspected it was Ramesses. You know, because of the sethos_3500 email address/ Yahoo identity. Another ancient Egyptian. While Sethos really was an OC in [livejournal.com profile] nazgul_nr_5's now sadly abandoned Rasputin fic.

4) In your opinion, where does the best chocolate come from? You can be   specific (one particular brand or store) or name a whole country.

There was a box, in red and orange colours, that had come from France somewhere and that my mother had got as a Christmas present last Christmas, from the French mother of one of her school children (she's an elementary school teacher). There were small chocolates inside, many different ones, and they were simply - perfection. My mother doesn't like chocolates much, preferring liquorice if she has sweets at all, so I was given them as they'd have just sat in the fridge and eventually gone off otherwise. First, Phia (the Little Lady) and I had a third of the package in one go. Then, when we had discovered just how great they were, we made them last. And last. Sharing the last one ceremoniously sometime after the New Year.

If you want me to interview you--post a comment that simply says, "Interview me." I'll respond with questions for you to take back to your own journal and answer as a post. Of course, they'll be different for each person since this is an interview and not a general survey. At the bottom of your post, after answering the Interviewer's questions, you ask if anyone wants to be interviewed.
