Falk quote of the month

The Nazgul and I were drinking strawberry punch with Falk the Metropolitan in my room, when Falk suddenly asked, "Is that a Greek or a Russian priest on that picture?"

We didn't know which picture he meant right away, and then found he meant the one directly above my computer.



And then we died laughing, because the person in the picture with me is neither.



It is Rasputin - or rather, a waxwork depicting him, from Belosedski-Belosersky palace in St. Petersburg!

We took about five minutes, the Nazgul and I, and then we were ded from howling laughter.

See? He's Russian alright. And wasn't Rasputin a sort of priest too? :-D

No, he wasn't. He was a self-declared religious 'elder' (starets) - that is something else. It's a bit complicated.
