Suggestions, anyone?
Jul. 15th, 2004 04:24 pmSo, tomorrow I go to Wiesbaden to meet up with my folks and the Little Lady, and on Sunday we leave for two weeks in No Computer Land.
Which term from four years ago isn't completely quite correct any more, actually. For one, I've got my little foldup computer (also known as P.C. to the people from the
discworld_rpg who know what that is) to take with me - but there is absolutely no Internet access for it.
Also, there is one Internet terminal for the whole of the entire seaside resort town (on the Baltic sea, so no danger I should expire from heat and/or sunburn), and that is only accessible at normal office hours, and after pre-booking it by the half-hour in a very complicated way. So, I might be on, nudge you lot and have one of my characters post on the RPG about - twice a week or so. Really, no Internet café, no nothing. I especially called them up to make sure. It's an old NT4 box, too.
While still having lots of time at my hand, actually. And a working, albeit utterly non-connected, computer which is up to all sorts of nefarious things again now that I have said good-bye to MS office and changed to OpenOffice.org
Mostly, I will be busy getting back with Dmitri, Felix and Grigori whom I have shamefully neglected these last six months or so in favour of more companionable forms of writing - I hope they have been good patient characters, simply waiting in the limbo of Not Being Written until their writer (=me) has time for them again. Should I discover that not to be the case, I should be utterly heartbroken.
In case they are sulking at me after all, or I feel the need to write something else for a while, or anything of that sort: until Sunday very early morning my time when I finally unplug the modem cable in Wiesbaden, I take sugestions. I still owe
schiarire some Casablanca slash, there is that half-written RPG fic about Tepp getting his tattoo that I need to re-write completely since I found out that Tattoos Aren't Like That, and finally I promised a short funny containing Vaysh to two of the Wraeththuites, which I can write much more easily now that I have read Shades. But because I am crazy and weird anyway and like to have my brain eaten regularly, I'm open to even more suggestions as to what I might write while there is no Morning Session but still so many, many mornings...
