Character bleed
Sep. 29th, 2006 01:24 pmI find that RL people who somehow remind me of Leo from the
Morningstar Manor RPG win big time with me. Anything Leo-like that turns up
and asks me for something will be treated nicely and get what it wants.
Sometimes, I will even help it without an express request for assistance.
(Probably because the Gils and the Eamons are rather rare in
RL...)
If you now ask yourselves why I'd treat people rudely, as a rule, and not
give them what they want, consider that I am IT (in general) and a database
tamer (in particular). I need to snark at people that make impossible
demands because this curddy SQL database simply can't do a plethora of
things that one would expect it to do, and I need to discourage people from
asking again after I showed them the error of their ways once. I don't like
repeating myself.
