State of the Maru
Nov. 24th, 2006 07:59 pmAm still sick. Went to doctor, got certified as sick until next Wednesday (inclusively) and went back to bed, where I stayed all afternoon, dozing and re-reading OotP (brain not sufficiently functional to take in anything new) while being subjected to Purr Therapy* by my cat.
I feel better now!!
Going online, I found the festering scandal in the German speaking blogosphere had been escalated to the next level: there are stalker comms on StudiVZ, the German Facebook clone which is about to be acquired by Facebook itself.
I am amused!!
Frat boys are frat boys everywhere; one wants them deported to Tanya Huff's reptile planet. But a large students' network which aims to be one of the flagships of German speaking Web 2.0 can't afford to tolerate secret and exclusively male comms that post pictures of girls complete with full names and dormitory addresses. Management seems to know about the comm; it is co-modded by one of their paid Campus Captains, even.
I hardly think Facebook wants to pay quite as much for the sorry thing after this. If anything at all.-
