Together, these made my day:

• My external hard disk (300 GB!!) arrived! I have thrown several archives off my computer, backuped the lot, then run some utilities. My dear little foldup computer is so much better and faster! Apart from where you still can't read the lettering on the keyboard any more.
• At the same time as that delivery from Amazon, an unexpected package arrived. They were some Russian Orthodox presents (a book of traditional pious folk tales, and liturgical chants from a monastery near Kiev) from the lady with the reindeer herders from Kamchatka for whom I translated a Finnish text on Easter, as a thank-you. Wrapped in paper with purple flowers on, with purple ribbons around it! What a very, very fitting gift!
