No sports!!
Oct. 1st, 2007 08:13 pmMy stupid cat had an accident today. He seems to have fallen off the highest bookshelf while investigating the new fairy lights while I was at work today. That's what you get for being so sporty.
When I came home, he was in his bed and didn't want to get out, and when I took him out, he yowled and was limping badly, so I called the vet whose hours were just ending. He said he'd wait, and I grabbed the cat, put on his harness and carried him to the vet - it's a bit of a walk, but Svava's owner has got the transport basket back, and I needed to get my cat there. Silly thing was so scared he peed all over me and himself on the way there.
The vet pronounces a toe sprained, probably slightly fracture, but definitely not broken, and said a splint would just drive the cat crazy. He gave him an injection for the pain and another medicine for tomorrow, weighed the cat to find the proper dosage (5 kg! He'd guessed 3, I'd guessed 8, just having carried that friggin' big whopper all the way) and then sent us on our way.
Lucifer revived somewhat on the way back already and took an interest in the rest of the world instead of just clinging and whining and yowling; when got home I put him back in his bed where he still is, and we both cleaned ourself up.
So yes, it was scary, but it's not that bad, and he'll be fine.-
