yakalskovich: (Reality is a rotten place to be)
Google ads on my Gmail account advise me to 'Get a new life in Uruguay!'

Hell, do I look like somebody who needs a new life in Uruguay? What have I mailed about that suggests to them I could use a new life in Uruguay??

**comic type light bulb lights up**

Oh, fuck, it is the bank heist! In Milliways! Does Google ads really notice mail content about sneaking into a bank's security office, and then setting explosives outside, constitutes a bank heist which, when it (hopefully for the customer) goes all right, will soon result in the need for a  new life in Uruguay???

That is scary! Not so much because of the spied-out-ness, more because  the AI seems to have a kind of wry sense of humour about it, which places it right in Uncanny Valley.

Warning: The link is to TV Tropes, a site that has been known to swallow people's brains for days and spit them out all cynical abbout story-telling techniques!
