I love Lucifer!
The most amazing thing about 'owning' a cat (or rather, getting one to live in my flat with me) isn't even the special funny things he does (expect a vid next weekend of Lucifer standing on his hind legs to get treats from my fingers, though), it is simply this:
I turn from the work I am doing at my computer to grab a sip of cold mocha, and this large, prone bundle of fur comes into sight, and I realise,
Even after almost half a year, that sense of joy and wonderment hasn't dimmed.
ETA: Now with 100% more pictorial proof!

From a bit further away, to show his size. In the background, please not
essayel's lovely drawing of
gil_whimple and
asar_suti !

A large red predator, asleep in the sun -
cracicotus and
wiebke, you know the blanket he is sleeping on and can guess how large his is, by the scale of those squares?>

The more paws, the cuter, as we learn on Cute Overload

'What you doing there with that clicky thing, human?'
And without the silly f-locks, because really, no reason to be private about how cute my cat is, is there?

He cracks me up when he walks into the house and starts with a kind of warbling meow which clearly means, "I'm home. Where is everyone? Hdello?" until we call to him and he comes to find us. At night, he does this to see if he is invited on the bed (even though he ALWAYS is), although he won't stay. Sometimes, I can say his name and he will say the meow equivalent of "What?" or maybe "Yes," or possibly my name; over and over, sometimes 10 times before he feels he's said enoough.
They really are like little wild animals that agree to live with us, although they are also like two year olds who need us far more than they want to let on.
