I must be crazy...

I just agreed with the Lady Lena to adopt another kitten next year -- a little black tomcat. He's not even born yet, but with 25 kittens a year from her stables, there's bound to be a black male.

I want my cats easily distinguishable! Also, according to the Lady Petersilie whom I know from my German blog, a male tends to terrorise a female, so it's better to have another male.

I'm going to have much more room in my new flat (over 10 square metres more!) PLUS a balcony so they can go outside -- I can afford it!

Most likely, his name will be Crowley, with 'Teja' and 'Severus' as options if he's not one of nature's Crowleys...

I have six cats -- four female and two males -- and I've never noticed either sex having a preference for picking on the other. Mum has four cats, three male and one female, and again, no preference. The cat fights that occur seems to be based on personality, not sex. Rada picks on EVERYONE, and she's the youngest and smallest. *shrugs*

I've had assorted combinations of male and female cats over the years, and unless the males are um, 'whole' so to speak, they're not a problem. Honest.

So if you're good to get them both neutered. There shouldn't be any problems.

We also had one male and one female and they got along really well. They were both properly snipped of course.
The female did terrorise her father though when he stayed with us while his owners were on vacation.

Oh my god! Another baby?!?!?!? And one of the proper color, at that!

I can't wait to hear of Lucifer's response to the newbie.
