Canon illustration for [livejournal.com profile] pastrydeity

Hi Sasha, have a Rebecca from 1860.-

She's from my father's old copy of 'Ivanhoe', and unfortunately, the only illustration in it.

Context: I had talked to [livejournal.com profile] arkadyevna on Daily Entertainment recently about canon illustrations from around the time the canon was written, and how it is cool to have them, if one is a mun of 19th century canon. And I vaguely remembered a n illustrated 'Ivanhoe' somewhere. The book has been found, but the one and only illustration is a frontispice of Rebecca.-

Sorry!

And I have this in somewhat larger resolution, if that's any use to you.-

Alas, with the bit of epilogue Scott put on for Rebecca (going to Granada, which had already had a massacre by that point and had forbidden Jews to live there without converting) makes it less likely she'd get a happy ending besides just surviving the Templars.

Yeah, research doesn't seem to be quite his strongest point. And there'll be some persecution back in her world, when I catch up on my string of OOMs, but I'm not sure yet how things'll work out for her.
