The most agonizing moment in the film is when his sister is singing "New York New York" and he can't bear the raw intimacy of the moment.

I'll keep an eye out for them, then. I have seen only XM:FC, Inglourious Basterds, and Jane Eyre, as far as films with Fassy go. Oh, and 300, butI didn't really notice him in that. And my relationship with that movie is odd, anyway.

I never saw XM. Hunger was his best role but Inglorious Basterds was wonderful.

He should have won an Oscar for Hunger (it's the Bobby Sands story -- the IRA prisoner who starved himself to death). It's the best Irish film I have ever seen, and I have followed the struggles since I was a teen (a member of the Young Socialist Alliance obtained footage from H-block; someone had smuggled a camera in).

Shame is a very different topic -- a sex addict who is unable to be intimate in any relationship, even with his sister.

It's far too long since I've seen an Irish Struggles movie. And too long since I was in Ireland, at that. But the movie seems worth giving a shot.

The movie is incredible! The first time I saw it I had to walk out. It was too intense and I couldn't handle it. But then I saw it when I was calmer and it blew me away. Again! That movie should have won everything!
