Capricious headvoices
Jul. 10th, 2006 09:32 pmLast night, when I was replying to this thread by
odin_za_vseh (who is on my f-list only because suddenly the most eccentric interest on my LJ profile turned blue one day, and he was the one I found when I clicked the unexpected link), I felt Felix move back into my brain.
Felix, however, claims only to have sulked in a corner and twiddled his thumbs while I was wrapping my brain around an aspect of his life I was uncomfortable with. That sort of entity/headvoice can be infinitely patient...
Now, thanks to input from Morningstar Manor, I can understand him much better. I was simply missing the distinction 'sub'. I'll have to re-work all I wrote so far, but I have to do that, as I a) need to replace the dog and b) ,ake the tone of voice less colloquial, as my betas told me it jarred. Making the old story feel contemporary does not mean trying to write on a level that utterly isn't mine.
So, what I've got to do is:
I think that is, ultimately, doable.-

So, what I've got to do is:
- re-write what I have
- make a list of characters and where they appear (hey, I learned stuff from keeping memories in a charrie journal)
- plot out the whole thing chapter by chapter, and stick to it
I think that is, ultimately, doable.-
