User generated content
Mar. 1st, 2007 11:03 amThis is user generated content of a different kind: an amazingly pretty bloke in Switzerland conned the country's major tabloid into printing a two-page spread of himself in their Sunday edition, by disguising the (quite nicely done) photograph as a Gucci ad. The bill? Was sent to Gucci.
According to sources he claims to have had a hard childhood, but I think such terribly lame excuses are utterly superfluous. No, I'd boldly claim this to be
a) a subversive art project
b) a guerilla portfolio
c) an attempt to get laid
d) print ad business 2.0 - everybody is a model!
Both the ad and the bloke look flawlessly professional; he must know the business very well to get the ad printed that way, too. If I were an ad agency in Switzerland and not a database wrangler in Germany, I'd hire him on the spot!
Originally, I found the story at the Lady Lanu's blog, but I do get snarked by somebody every time I link a source only in German - so took the time to find an English language version...
