Only the paranoid survive...
More and more, the entries on my f-list are f-locked; I need to log in as myself to see what is going on. Even I have been known to post entries f-locked to my "Dyskworlders" friends' group when I didn't want to spam everybody with
discworld_rpg related stuff, or was being sentimental, or both.
But somehow, everybody has lately started doing that. I know about some people, but generally I wonder whether that is just something goiong around memtically, like a mental cold, or what people really are afraid of.
Also, there is that one point where the concept of "private tags" we're using at the Discworld RPG is superior to the actual f-locking: there, you can take not only whole posts, but also comments and even parts of comments private and hide them from all the other characters (while the muns read on all the more avidly). On actual LJ, I need to know somebody's email address and mail them.

The new Captain icons are purdy. But I've got this weird personal stigma against making anything other than 100x100. I haven't any idea why.

I noticed that
And, well, your icons are artsy, and you make them especially, and you have that characteristic bevel-cut or whatever you may call it. So it's something different from simple portraiture that shows a character doing emotions and variations.

Of the Captain icons, this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/lajosspics/Iconage/nli18.jpg), this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/lajosspics/Iconage/nli09.jpg), and this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/lajosspics/Iconage/nli24.jpg) are my favorites.

The first icon you like will most likely be the new default icon for the Captain; the third has good chances to be the new icon for "Smiling", and about the middle one I don't know yet.

The middle one could be any number of things. His expression is ambiguous. I like it because of the darkness and the droplets of sweat... or tears? whatever they are.

- Water, actually; it's from the same steam-bath scene from "Monte Cristo" as the icons in use under the names of "Red" and "Steamy". "Steamy" gets repleced with a better version of the same screen cap, and "Red" stays. And this one might be "Wet" or "Distressed" and be new. Cause I'm going to splurge and buy the Captain additional icons when I renew his paid account, which is due in a few days.
