This is my answer to that post of [livejournal.com profile] schiarire's. Sorry, no crayons. I do everything with my fountain pen.

So, in the name of my notional Maori ancestors*, the Lady Iris who lived and worked at a Backpackers' station where there were penguins, and the beautiful locations of the LOTR movies, I voice the following doubt to the idea of simply exchanging the location of Texas and Australia:

I like pictures on my LJ. I dislike Bleiwüsten  ("lead deserts)", as badly set and badly structured books that are all small print and no relief are called in German printer's slang.

So, I give you the Bad Joke, as drawn by Apitz & Kunkel, local comic strip artists from the Wiesbaden area, where I grew up and my family still lives. We almost religiously follow their series of "Karl" comics.

Writing about the nonsense spam that has been in abundant evidence these last few weeks, [livejournal.com profile] canis_m accidentally created a very charming entity called a Pronunciation Jaguar; she named him Lash the Enforcer. He'll bite parts of you off if you seriously mispronounce things...

So, while waiting for the queue to calmly enter my fax server (and not much else going on), I'll have a look at the funny critters and concepts the next random gibberish spam provides me with:

  • actinic rap: Is that opposite of gangsta rap, music that extols the virtue of the police force?
  • canopy heir fraud: One wonders what kind of canopy these people stand to inherit to resort to such measures...
  • A jurisprudential ape , though, is a creature we have all of us encountered at some stage or another.
  • Also, a ridiculous malcontent contractor - don't we just love these guys?
  • Sometimes I end up being a pensive clockwatcher, especially at times like this when the server does things and I have just to be there to hold its hand. I think I shall buy an Ikon or create a magickal entity (same difference, really) to mollycoddle the server a bit so I'll get to do other things.
  • A flamingo burlesque might be fun to watch, although, alas, I have never yet seen one...
  • Who actually is the assiduous democracy foe?
  • And perhaps, [livejournal.com profile] wiebke has heard about a consulate parakeet?
  • That raven brimstone fiberglas stuff must be the modern-day Goth material of choice, and
  • behind a laudanum guardhouse I wouldn't feel very safe.

So much for ONE single effin' spam mail! We should all read the things more often istead of just delete them.

Repeated special kudos to [livejournal.com profile] canis_m for thinking of this brilliant way to while away dead time...

Disclaimer: This is a joke by the Nazgul (who doesn't have an LJ so I can post it without stealing her thunder muchly) on a Lord of the Rings theme. It might seem a teeny-weeny bit blasphemous to the more narrow-minded (dim-witted cow-heads from Oberammergau come to mind, as mentioned in my last post), so if you consider yourself devoutly Catholic or else easily offended, then don't click to read more!!
Otherwise, click to read more! )

... and in this charming minimalist cartoon an Italian cartoonist shows why the Italians are very odd.

... sent to me by my former colleague Astrid (no livejournal). Some of the statements are decidedly odd.-

"The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country."
- George W. Bush

"If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure."
