Urqhuart mugs ordered!

dramaturgca, now that I have a new computer that's able to handle even complex Java with ease, I finally ordered my Urq mugs (three, as I am doing them anyway) from Cafepress.

Me: Yadda yadda yadda horrible slavery! I was here at 20 to 10 today! There's not enough coffee in the world!
Nazgul: And I was going to ask you how about going swimming on Friday.
Me: **thinks about ahhhhhh warm water, drifting about while looking at marine monsters on the ceiling** Not a bad idea! But not all that late.
Nazgul: deadpanDo you have to take Urquhart for walkies afterwards?
Me: **almost snarfs what coffee there is onto screen** ROFL!!!! Erm, yes, I'd quite like to be home in the evening for RPing.
Actually, it's not so much Urq on Friday, rather the last day of fashion shoots in Morningstar Manor for which I play the photographer (my main charrie there) and the designer (an NPC), but anyway, yes, I want the RL excursion done before RP gets hopping and people want me there. And while it's generally nice that RL people take that into account, I find it hilarious how the Nazgul put it in words.-

Feb. 3rd, 2010 10:37 amI don't use LJ-Login to change between my charries in Firefox, I assign browsers to the main logins that stay logged in in that browser. My standard browser is Firefox, though.
I just changed the permanent login in Firefox to Urquhart's, and assigned Teja to Flock. That means Urq's now technically my main Milli!character.
And he's going to come to Morningstar Manor as well, 'translated' for that world. Plot is brewing that'll keep us amused for some time.
So, my brain has been officially consumed.
Help I have this crazy straight bloke in my headspace...!!!

Jan. 31st, 2010 02:12 amI just allowed a Wagner opera (in which Siegfried was some blue dreadlocked orc with bare legs and big boots) to run on my telly, promptly fell asleep, and woke up two hours later to a some terribly TMI-y medical discussion program.
Argh!!!

And a thread of others discussing my pup to read. Again. Urquhart is a bit of a plot centrifuge, really. He touches somebody, and they start reacting and talking to others and preparing a way to deal with the dangerous lunatic.
While being quite a success with the women. That's canon, too, in the way he charms Maria -- before shooting her through the eye, of course. Saffron is the most fascinating of them, a challenge and an equal, but really, he'll take what he can.
He does, by the way, absolutely take 'No' for an answer, no hard feelings or persecutions. He will argue that he gets his women with either charm or money (totally willing to pay for a professional and use her services, that's canon as well), and the day that neither will get him laid in some way is probably the day he should give up trying. So if he flirts with your female charrie? He'll have no problem with being brushed off, nor cause one for your pup.-

Jan. 22nd, 2010 01:56 amMost of my 'main' RP charries have been more or less gay, if they were male. Now, for the first time, I have a batshit insane mostly* straight bloke sharing my brainmeats on a regular basis.
He's been quite impressed by a number of women inmilliways_bar and mixed_muses, but the most impressive of them was Saffrom, from Firefly.
What a woman! the 'headvoice' keeps going. How canny, skilful, clever, independent, beautiful, interestingly dangerous and enticingly devious! What stamina! What BOOBS!!
And I the poor Urq-ridden mun, after resisting steadfastly for weeks, yesterday gave in and borrowed 'Firefly' on DVD again. for the sole purpose of re-watching the two episodes with Saffron in them.
*sigh*
And then, today, this. The actress is, apparently, more or less the female lead in one of the three or five most cutting-edge TV series that haven't made it over here, and caught some flak over her dress at the Golden Globes, with a nasty side order of snide comments about her body shape (which latter infuriate me, no Urq involved).
"No", my inner!Urq comments, after thinking some crossbow-shaped thoughts and dismissing them. "She'll have their balls. Lightly sautéed. Will be fun to watch. No need to meddle. It's her, after all."
* Merc called him a 'three-beer queer', and yes, he'll do a bloke for the sake of novelty, if there are wings or other strangeness involved, to lace his pleasure with a little cruelty and domination, or to prove the point he has the morals of an alley cat and won't shy away from unconventional pleasures. But really, given the choice, he likes women. Unconventional independent ones with no false modesty, that take as good as they give, and aren't likely to make him apologise later.

Jan. 11th, 2010 12:40 amYou know, it's helpful to type out canon. With Teja's canon, I did get the high-falutin style before I translated some of it, but the weird disjointed punctuation I only picked up when I translated reams of it.
With Urquhart, it's short sentences and more carriage returns than strictly needed.

He's already acquired a 'theme song', a poem that he quotes in canon.
Here's the version of it that occurs in Orff's 'Carmina Burana', and this one is the Corvus Corax version.
Oh, and just to research history in order to properly evoke that world! Can you get addicted to the past?
