yakalskovich: (Homo homini lupus)
Last year's really seedy pub has turned into quite a nice one where I can sit outside and drink shandy while my laundry is drying.

And here, you see my plants fighting, as requested:

Here you see how badly entangled my lemon balm and the clematis have become after only two days.

But the lemon balm is still going strong and pushing through the encroaching clematis.

I posted one picture at the time, but was too sick to get up the energy for an entire picture post. In fact, on the day, I felt too ill to get up the energy to take pictures much. Most of these, the Nazgul took with my camera. She has a way of looking at medieval merchandise that I quite like.-

Lots of medieval pictures under the cut! )

White mulled wine with apples and spices, sweets from [livejournal.com profile] moons_storm, and a nice Pterry novel...

And because of the thankfully vuvuzela-free Ankh-Morpork football, I wore my old Ankh-Morpork jersey today.

Due to all that, my oldest RP headvoice ever woke up again. She opened her coffin lid, smiled at me sweetly, and said 'Oh, Maru, my dear, I had such a wonderful nap. You found me a new place to conquer and dominate have tea at? Thank you, my dear, let's go!' So, if all goes well, Milliways will soon have a [livejournal.com profile] margolotta.

yakalskovich: The Nazgul and I in nun costumes at Kaltenberg posing with a bloke dressed as Jack Sparrow (Jack Sparrow makes nuns happy!)

The Nazgul had been to a kendo camp beyond Berlin all week, and only returned today, so we just met up in the evening to go to the little Chinese place around the corner, and catch up. We each had a beer, but you can only see mine.

There was quite the spectacular sunset going on in the background. The clouds tantalisingly hinted at the long-awaited rain; the weekend had been just awfully hot. Lucifer had spent it lying belly-up by the french windows.

Here is me with my beer, squinting into the sunset. Cheers!

Later, when the Nazgul had successfully got home, there was a thunderstorm and lots of rain, and it's still dripping, and significantly cooler.

Yay!
yakalskovich: (Screw responsible adulthood!)
Seems today I got on top of that 'responsible adulthood' thing. My day off sounds soooo mature:

  • I updated ALL the little updatey things that my computer kept nagging me about.
  • I did two loads of laundry
  • I clipped the claws of both my cats
  • I made all the blog posts I had planned to make
  • I got groceries, including the fabric conditioner I had gone out to get
  • I made and had a nice salad of tomatoes, mozzarella and basil
  • I hung up all the washing that I wanted to dry naturally
  • I took the rest of the laundry to the laundromat to tumble-dry
  • I went to the bank
  • I sat outside a pub and had a beer and read a book
  • Then, I neatly folded all my laundry, and took it home.

Now, next on the schedule:

INTERNET FOREVER!!!
yakalskovich: (Reality is a rotten place to be)

I saw this pissed-off Bavarian lederhosen dwarf while I was wandering around in a trendily run-down commercial district looking for that kendo party. It was too damn hot, and the promised cloudburst had gone away again.

When I found it, it was a trendy white loft full of scary, sportsy strangers, there was no music, and all the food was already gone. So I told the Nazgul I was very sorry, but no, and left. Instead, I went to the nearby beer garden 'Villa Flora' where everybody was totally ignoring the huge flatscreens full of football, and had a nice pint (which you see here) while fanning myself with that little purple fan from Verona, and cooling down.

Then I went home. There were drunken football orcs in the train. I will have to avoid going out much in the next few weeks.
yakalskovich: (Into the blue...)
My life has been very nice and pleasant lately, and I'd like to share some pictures from the last few weeks.

This is my neighbourhood seen over the rim of the often mentioned white wine spritzer at the Italian street café around the corner.

More pictorial proof of how good my life is at the moment! )
