yakalskovich: (We are being dramatic)
We had painters invade the balconies this morning to repair minor damages in the outside paint.

I didn't like it at all because I didn't have to work today, planned to sleep in to help deal with my leftover lurgy, and woke to some shadow rustling and humming on the other side of my bedroom window, which was ajar. Of course, my Gothic drapes were down, but it was bad enough -- I fled from my room as soundlessly as I could and hid in the bathroom, where the cats were already hiding out, scared witless by the apparition on our balcony. Mephi was cowering and hissing desperately, and Lucifer squeezed beneath the cabinet under the sink.

It took him hours to get back to normal, poor cat. He clung to me all afternoon and evening and only consented to leave my side when I filled the cat bowl with unscheduled gooshy food.-

So like Mephisto...

He's allowed to do that, it's the cat chair in the kitchen. Picture taken on Sunday by the Nazgul.-

Today, I met this cute kitten named August at a friend of my sister's where we were fetching plums. And then, I whitewashed my sister's future larder.

The end.-

Tried walking the cat again today. He did not approve and made holes in me. Lucifer was also very glad to get him back.-

My cat, on a busy cat picture aggregator!

**proud**

But no, I doubt he's pulling for the Lannisters. He's too much of a coward to pull for anybody at all in any game where 'you win or your die'.

For the [livejournal.com profile] thronathon people: yes, I'm still reading, piecemeal, on the train; will post a few impressions from the last few chapters soon!

For the sake of general envy, here is today's tea table with key lime pie made by the Nazgul.

And as a bonus, here is Lucifer looking incredibly stoned or 'nipped:

The movie today is a Chinese martial arts comic adaptation, Storm Warriors. I would not wholeheartedly recommend it, as the Nazgul and I just had a great laughing fit about a bit that was meant seriously...

Bang!

I woke last night at five from a huuuuge bang that sounded like the end of the world. It was raining horribly outside, so I assumed that some lightning had struck very close. Befuddled, I got up and zombied into the bathroom, where two very spooked cats joined me to huddle with me, worried that we might get fried, drownded, or both.

Then, a second bang! And what do the wee beasties do?

Race into the kitchen and staaaaaare out of the window to see whether anything is happening there!

Today, it's exactly three years since this strange little black critter was delivered to my door.

He's still a strange little black critter, but not quite as little as he started out as.

But still randomly strange.-

I caught me a cat, and the Nazgul took a picture...

I caught a cat -- and the Nazgul caught us with a camera!

... and this furry miscreant is enjoying the refreshing air, belly-up.

White cats are so cute -- especially the parts that are pink.

You can see how they are totally taking up the entire divan...

Just now, a UPS guy bearing a heavier-than-expected package toppled over my threshold and almost fell into my entrance area. It was an unusually large package from Amazon, and it contained a doorstopper, which you can see on this picture (while the cats are making short work of the leftover milk from my bran flakes, as usual).

Yep, I caved and bought the books after all. They were only 20 Euros, in a box with Ned Stark on the one side, Daenerys on the other. I thought that was worth it.

For [livejournal.com profile] idylchild, as promised, a coffee table set with some of my Lomonossov porcelain. I have no dessert plates yet; I might ask for them for next Christmas. And as I make my coffee in that french press, having a coffee pot is pointless.

And as I was taking pictures anyway, have a little black Mephisto looking deathly serious.

Cats tend to have strange ideas like you wouldn't believe. This strange little red fellow apparently likes to squeeze himself through a toy car.

Mine are far too big for me to see if they'd try, but actually, I could get them something with wheels and see what they make of it. Because I am mean and like strange experimental set-ups for cat entertainment.

Suddenly, to the great astonishment of my cats, birds started tweeting from the computer.

But that was because of the music I had just bought...

I was just dozing, mostly asleep, with iTunes running as a jukebox, when suddenly a familiar little bleating voice started going 'Meeaow meeaow meeaow meow meow!' That's right, he went 'meow' like a normal cat, not 'Ngah!' as usual.

I was so amused that I woke up and started paying attention, and found it was the piece iTunes was playing, or rather, the nyckelharpa.

Whenever the nyckelharpa went off, Mephisto belted out the melody with it, or tried to.

He was singing along.

Here's the song. See if your cats sing along as well.
