Maru's Mun Journal

When Thomas the Metropolitan took my new resumé pictures (a special German thing, as you have to include a picture of yourself when you send your CV to potential employers), I showed him the picture of the Light Boat Festival and deplored that my camera and my little multipurpose computer (AKA smartphone) both can't capture nearly as much light as the human eye.

So he decided to lend me one of his older Pentaxes. Apparently, he has several. He added a simple multipurpose lens of the kind that come with the camera, and brought it over last Saturday.

Here are some small observations from the last few days, minus the spider who is in another post so even the arachnophobes on my flist can safely look at the pretty lake views!

Today, I went to the smaller island in the lake where there is a Benedictine nuns' convent that has been working nearly uninterruptedly since the 8th century.

Today started out as a bit of uphill work, but I then my doctor picked me spontaneously to test a brand-new echocardiography machine on me, with the company rep explaining the functions of that new model while she worked, which was really interesting (yay new machinery of any kind), and from then on, things went swimmingly, I managed to get my points across, I managed to get an early permission to go swimming because of the very nice things the brand-new machine had to say about me, all the measurements that had been off dropped back to normal, I totally hijacked the session with the dietician I was scheduled for, and then I took a walk by the lake to de-stress.

My sister sent me pictures of that infamous corner bench, now with the room complete, the last seat upholstered as well, and everything decorated for the joint birthday party they had for the little boys today (whose birthdays are within four days of each other).

Tried walking the cat again today. He did not approve and made holes in me. Lucifer was also very glad to get him back.-

I did the newsprint-on-nails thing I'd found while I was sick. Yay for public holidays -- nothing to do except watch 'Game of Thrones' and paint my nails. My toenails are now blue, with white lacy stickers.

And yay for the first real magic on GoT, apart from those zombies. So far, it had been heavy on swords and light on sorcery.

ETA upon finishing the episode of 'GoT': What?? WHAT??? WTF you what just now??? **mind boggles**

I said my stack of unread books was about to reach to orbit of Pluto? Here is pictorial proof.
